🎺🥁🖤💛 The PHS Marching Apaches have spent the last eight weeks learning the music, setting the drill, and perfecting all the little details that turn notes and steps into a SHOW!
Along the way, the parade of hats has been almost as entertaining as the variety of personalities in this crew. 😂 If you know, you know!
Spending fourth and fifth periods out on the pavement isn’t always glamorous, but this group has found the perfect balance of hard work, great music, plenty of laughter, and simply enjoying time with their people.
Shout out to our fearless band directors and these hardworking students for putting in the hours to create something worth watching—and hearing! We love our Marching Apaches! 🎶

🎾🖤💛 The Pottsville tennis family celebrated TWELVE seniors Monday—and this one came with plenty of smiles, hugs, laughs, and maybe a few tears. Coach Davis shared words of praise for each senior, teammates celebrated their friends, and, of course, there were perfectly themed iced cookies! 🍪
This group loves playing tennis together. They love competing, winning big matches, and cheering each other on—but what they really love is simply being together. Somewhere along the way, teammates became friends, and friends became family. Like so many moments during senior year, the celebration was a little bittersweet. We’re not quite ready for all these “lasts,” but we’re going to enjoy every one of them.
We love this team, we love these seniors, and we love our Tribe! 🎾🖤💛

Congratulations to the sophomores for claiming both the Spirit Stick and the tug-of-war victory 💪 and to the Class of 2027 for taking home the Powder Puff championship! 🏆
More than anything, we loved seeing a great group of Apaches laughing, competing, and cheering on their Tribe. 🖤💛 What a fun night in Apache Country!

Friday’s PHS pep rally brought the energy, the school spirit, and plenty of reasons to love being an Apache! From the cheers and competitions to a packed gym full of students ready to celebrate their Tribe, it was a GREAT day to be at PHS! 🎉
And if you think these pictures are fun…just wait. 👀🏈
Powder Puff pictures are coming next, and trust us—you’re going to want to see those!
Great things happen in Apache Country! 🖤💛

Our AP Language students put rhetoric into action today! 🥣📚 Students completed a Cereal Rhetorical Analysis, examining how cereal advertisements use rhetorical choices to persuade their audiences. Through discussion, collaboration, and evidence-based analysis, students discovered that rhetoric truly is all around us—even at the breakfast table! 👏✨

To know Jesslyn is to love her! Mrs. Deramus nominated this special young lady in recognition of her outstanding work ethic, intelligence, team mentality, and genuine friendliness. Jesslyn is the kind of student who makes PHS a better place simply by being part of it—and she’s a wonderful representative of our Tribe!
Congratulations, Jesslyn! We’re so proud to celebrate YOU! 🖤💛

🧠✨ AP Psychology has been busy! ✨🧠
Ms. Dougan's AP Psych students have been putting their critical thinking skills to work with some fun (and thought-provoking!) activities!
⚖️ Ethics Knockout: Students went head-to-head in a tournament-style competition, voting on which famous psychological experiments they believed were the most unethical. It sparked some great conversations about research ethics and the importance of protecting participants!
🍫 M&M Statistics Lab: Who knew M&Ms could help us prepare for the AP Exam?! 📊 Students used everyone’s favorite colorful candy to practice mean, median, mode, and other important statistical skills they’ll need to know for test day. The best part is they got to eat their M&Ms once the lab was finished!
From debating ethics to analyzing candy… AP Psychology is learning by doing! 🧠🍫📚🎉

🦠🔬 Mrs. Kendrick’s first-period Biology class took advantage of a cool(ish) morning as they continued their exploration of bacteria!
Students worked in “expert teams,” digging into new information, collaborating with classmates, and becoming the go-to experts on their assigned topics.
At one point, a student summed up the experience perfectly: “We do so much THINKING in this class!” 😂🧠
YES! That’s exactly what we like to hear, Apaches! Learning should require us to question, connect, discuss, problem-solve, and occasionally make our brains hurt just a little bit.
Keep thinking, scientists! Mrs. Kendrick has big plans for those brains. 🖤💛

PHS Veterinary Science students have been learning the importance of biosecurity in order to protect themselves, the public, and the animals for which they care. We are germ free, donned, and ready for surgery.

🎭🎮📚 There’s a place for every Apache at PHS!
Club Fair gave our students a chance to explore the many ways to get involved on campus—from History and Drama to Beta, eSports, and plenty of options in between. Students met club members, learned about activities, and hopefully discovered a group that feels just right!
And if you didn’t join a club during the fair, it’s definitely not too late. 👀 Check out the club flyers posted around campus, ask questions, try something new, and GET INVOLVED!
High school is more fun when you find your people. Find your place. Find your own tribe. 🖤💛

Juniors, it’s time to order your senior ring!
Jostens will be back on campus this week to help the Class of 2028 mark one of the first big milestones on the road to senior year! Order in person or online, and stop by the PHS office for details.
And juniors—DON’T BLINK! 👀 One minute you’re ordering a senior ring, and the next we’re talking senior pictures, graduation gowns, and all those “last firsts.”
Enjoy every minute! Class of 2028, your time is coming, and we can’t wait to celebrate all the milestones along the way! 🎓🖤💛

The boys' golf team--and their coaches--helped Nurse Becky's father move his stalled car out of the intersection last week--in the pouring down rain! Nurse Becky presented these young men with their "Caught Being Good" buttons and sang their praises for being great Apaches. Thanks, gentlemen!
