Here's another AP success story worth celebrating! This year, 100% of Mr. Dodson's AP United States History students earned a qualifying score on the AP Exam. What an incredible accomplishment! 🎉
APUSH is one of the most demanding courses a student can take, covering the story of our nation from its earliest beginnings to the present day. Success requires extensive reading, analytical writing, critical thinking, and the ability to connect historical events across centuries. It's challenging work—but Mr. Dodson and his students were more than up for the task.
Congratulations to Mr. Dodson and his APUSH students on an exceptional year! Thank you for proving that hard work, determination, and a passion for learning continue to thrive at Pottsville High School. 🖤💛

📚✍️ Let's hear it for Mrs. Brownlee and her AP Lang gang!
AP English Language and Composition isn't for the faint of heart. Throughout the year, 47 PHS students immersed themselves in challenging nonfiction texts while learning to write rhetorical analyses, synthesis essays, and well-crafted arguments—skills that prepare them for success far beyond high school. Their hard work paid off! 🎉 Twenty-four students earned a qualifying score of 3 or higher on the AP Exam, an impressive 52% pass rate. Those scores mean college credit for Comp I—and for several students, even Comp II!
Congratulations to Mrs. Brownlee and her students for embracing a rigorous course, persevering through the challenges, and achieving such meaningful success. 🖤💛
And the good news doesn't stop there! Beginning this school year, Mrs. Brownlee has partnered with UACCM to offer Comp I and Comp II on the PHS campus. As part of the first cohort in this exciting pilot program, she'll provide students with another outstanding opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school.
Teachers like Mrs. Brownlee don't just teach content—they open doors, create opportunities, and help students discover what they're capable of achieving. Thank you for making Pottsville High School such a special place to learn!

A proud Pottsville graduate, Coach McAnulty has already fit right back into the Tribe—and rumor has it bringing donuts to practice certainly didn't hurt! 🍩😊 While we're excited about the wins that will come on the basketball court, we're even more excited about the impact Coach McAnulty will have on the young women in our program. Great coaches do more than teach the game; they build confidence, develop character, and inspire student-athletes to become the very best versions of themselves.
Welcome home, Coach McAnulty! Let's have a great season! 🏀
