As the PHS EAST team prepares for their upcoming state conference, we want to give them a well-deserved shout out for the many small problems they’ve noticed—and solved—along the way.
From helping organize the Class Fair to supporting a food drive and planning a respectful flag retirement ceremony, these students are constantly looking for ways to serve their school and community. 🇺🇸📦🎓 Behind the scenes, Mrs. Flemmons somehow keeps all the projects moving forward—and does it all with a smile! Thank you to our EAST students and their fearless leader for making a difference every day. 👏✨ #OurTribeStory

Abby Smith and Charlie Lowe jumped in to help Mrs. Talley get her classroom ready for a substitute, and she made sure their kindness didn’t go unnoticed by awarding them each a “Caught Being Good” button! 🎉✨ Students like Abby and Charlie remind us that a little helpfulness goes a long way. Preparing for a substitute can be a big task, and their willingness to pitch in made the day a little easier. 🧹📚🙌 We’re grateful for students who step up, lend a hand, and make our school a better place each day! ❤️👏#OurTribeStory

Today PHS sends off our basketball teams to Morrilton for the first round of the state tournament! 🏀🔥
The games are exciting, but what impresses us even more is the daily grind behind the scenes—the early practices, the running, the plays, and the endless shooting. These athletes put in the work day after day, and it shows. 💪⛹️♂️⛹️♀️We’re proud of the dedication, discipline, and heart our players bring to the court. Good luck today, Apaches—we’re cheering with all our hearts! 🧡🖤 #OurTribeStory

With the ACT right around the corner on March 10, our PHS juniors had the chance to sharpen their skills during a three-hour ACT Bootcamp organized by Career Coach Mrs. Beavers. Experts from Huntington Learning Center led the session, sharing helpful testing strategies, key reminders (like math formulas and grammar rules), and practical time-management tips to help students feel confident and prepared. It was quite the marathon of instruction—and the cute t-shirts were an added bonus! 👕📚 Thank you, Mrs. Beavers, for organizing such a great opportunity for our students. Good luck next Tuesday, Apaches—we’re cheering you on! 💪📝

In a fun twist to the “Caught Being Good” culture at PHS, Mrs. Millsaps surprised Ms. Dougan with her very own button! When a colleague shows up with gluten-free cookies at just the right moment, a little recognition is the least one can do. Thank you for being such a thoughtful friend and colleague, Ms. Dougan—and for keeping that Oreo stash stocked! 🍪👏 #OurTribeStory

Students in class today were preparing to draft revolutionary astronomers for a research project that will eventually compete in a March Madness-style bracket to determine who was the most influential. 🔭✨
To determine the draft order, students were given a piece of paper and 60 seconds to build a paper airplane. The distance their airplanes flew determined their draft picks! ✈️
A little creativity, a little competition, and a lot of learning—just another day in Apache Country. 📚🖤💛 #OurTribeStory

Our Senior Internship students are doing it all! 👏 While gaining real-world experience through their internships, many are also balancing part-time jobs, building responsibility, time-management skills, and professional confidence along the way. 💼📚

Basketball may be wrapping up, but don't worry, we have PLENTY of spring sports to keep you yelling for the Apaches!

Mr. Dodson “caught” Carson Burris being good in U.S. History! 🇺🇸📚 Carson has worked hard and has truly impressed Mr. Dodson with his growth and dedication to learning. Congratulations, Carson! Keep up the great work—we’re proud of you! 💛🖤 #OurTribeStory

We are accepting donations for the Hull family.
Clint and Patsy Hull lost their home of 50 years in a fire Tuesday night. Clint Hull has served on our school board for 44 years and has been a steady, faithful leader in our schools and our community. Now it is our turn to show up for him and his family.🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛

Pottsville School District is proud to celebrate our February (and one January!) Students of the Month! 🎉🌟These outstanding young ladies represent the very best of our tribe through their leadership, kindness, and commitment to excellence. Emma Moore and Lexi Young wrote a children’s book for their Ed Rising/Pre-Educator convention—and earned second place! 🥈📚✨Inspired by a young guest in Emma’s home, this picture book beautifully combines Emma’s words with Lexi’s illustrations, showcasing both creativity and collaboration. 🎨💛Congratulations on a successful partnership, ladies! We are so proud of the talent and teamwork you represent at PHS. 🖤👏 #OurTribeStory

We have had some questions about who takes care of our school photography. We are happy to share that we partner with Inter‑State Studio📸.

The PHS CTE Department has big plans for next year’s students! 🔧✨ As we begin the process of helping students choose classes in the coming weeks, Mrs. Simpson, Mrs. Luker, Mrs. Prince, and Mrs. Riley (and their colleagues in the agriculture, computer science, and pre-educator pathways) are ready with exciting options that set Apaches up for success. From hands-on learning to career-ready skills, this team is building bright futures every day. 💛🖤 We love our CTE Department! #OurTribeStory

To celebrate their state championship, wrestling parents treated the team to a well-deserved feast! 🏆🍰 These athletes have spent the past few months stepping on the scales and working hard to secure their weight classes—so a few pies, cake, and plenty of delicious food were the perfect way to put a bow on an incredible season. 🎉🥧We’re proud of our wrestlers and grateful for the families who support them every step of the way! 💛🖤 #OurTribeStory

Kindness Week was full of fun activities, and one of the favorites was creating “kindness pins” to share with friends! 💛✨ Mrs. Storm organized the materials and helped spark all that creativity, making it easy for students to spread encouragement across campus. Such a simple, meaningful way to brighten someone’s day and build a stronger tribe! 🖤🌟 #OurTribeStory

Mrs. Hare “caught” Paisley being good when she volunteered to help her classmates with their math assignments. 📐✨ She’s a fantastic peer tutor, always willing to step in and lend a hand. We love seeing PHS seniors take on leadership roles and support younger students—it’s what makes our tribe strong! 💛🖤 Way to go, Paisley! 👏 #OurTribeStory
