On the best Fridays, Mr. Dean hosts Chess Club during Enrichment, and his classroom fills with the quiet buzz of competition and growing friendships. ♟️✨ Students sharpen their strategies, challenge one another, and enjoy learning together in a fun, welcoming space.
This group gets larger (and smarter!) every time they meet—and we love seeing these Apaches think, connect, and grow. 💛🖤 #OurTribeStory

Arkansas weather said, "PLOT TWIST," so we're giving you one too!
Due to a full week of ice, snow and no school, the reading challenge deadline has been extended. Stay warm and KEEP READING! #pottsvillereads

Coach Sandifer welcomed Arkansas Tech nursing students into his Health classroom for an important hands-on lesson in “Stop the Bleed.” 🩺🩹 PHS students learned how to pack wounds and apply a tourniquet—skills that can truly save lives. These real-world experiences help prepare our Apaches to respond with confidence and care when it matters most. Being an educated Apache means learning how to help others in critical moments! 💛🖤 #OurTribeStory

Introducing Senior Internship Student, Carlos!

Freshmen made the trip to the junior high last Thursday to cheer on the PJH basketball team, and the energy was contagious! 🏀📣 Led by the cheerleaders, Apaches loved being under one roof—and then raising the roof as they shouted for the Black, Gold, and White! 💛🖤🤍
What a great way to show school pride and support our Apaches! 👏🎉 #OurTribeStory

One of the guiding themes at Pottsville School District is grit and growth, and Mrs. Rogers has brought those ideas to life in her classroom. 🌱✨ Students are tracing their assessments and skill development as they work their way toward success—seeing firsthand how effort leads to progress. Roma and Mercedes are wonderful examples of students who have embraced the mindset that hard work truly is worth it. 💪📈 We’re proud of their determination and perseverance! 💛🖤 #OurTribeStory

A new group on the PHS campus is our Quiz Bowl team, guided by the capable hands of Mrs. Kendrick and Mrs. Storm. 🧠✨ PHS is excited to host the Regional Tournament in February, and we can’t wait to see what this team accomplishes along the way! We’re cheering on Zoe, Evangeline, Rylie, Roma, and Ben (with a little help from River Storm) as they represent PHS with knowledge, teamwork, and confidence. 📚🏆 Go, Apaches! 💛🖤 #OurTribeStory

Profe Dixon “caught” Landon Buckman being good in Spanish class when Landon noticed a classmate who needed extra support—and stepped right in to help! We are so grateful for teachers like Profe Dixon and students like Landon who make kindness and teamwork part of everyday life at PHS. 💛🖤 Way to go, Landon! #OurTribeStory

No School Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

One of the "otterly" silly traditions we love at PHS is the hiding-and-finding game for Mr. Otterton, our emotional support otter. 🦦😂 (And let’s be honest…the Sonic gift card reward doesn’t hurt either! 🥤🍟) Officer Garza and his daughters have hidden Mr. Otterton somewhere in the building…so the big question is: who will find him next? 👀🎉 You never know what kind of fun is happening in Apache Country! 💛🖤 #OurTribeStory #SchoolLikeNoOtter

Mrs. Prince works with more than forty students in the PHS internship program, helping them gain real-world experience and prepare for life after high school. 🌟 Some of our early birds even meet with her each Tuesday morning for “zero period” from 7:15–8:00 AM! ⏰📚 Meeting the needs of our students—and supporting them no matter how early the day starts—is a priority at PHS. We’re proud of this program and the dedication behind it! 💛🖤 #OurTribeStory

❄️🏆 SNOW GUESS CHAMPION! 🏆❄️
Shoutout to Lexi Young, who was the ONLY person to guess 5 7/8 inch of snow! The official measurement was taken at 8:00 AM from the top of my patrol car, and Lexi nailed it 💯👏 Because of that spot-on guess, she’s taking home a $50 Chick-fil-A gift card courtesy of the Pottsville School District Police Department. Thanks to everyone who played along and made our Snowpocalypse a little more fun! ☃️🚓

Colors’ Day wouldn’t be complete without a pep rally! 📣🔥 As Apaches cheered on our basketball team, classes also battled it out for the coveted spirit stick. So many students make our pep rallies a success—the band 🎶, the choir 🎤, the cheerleaders 📣, the game players, and this time… the sophomores, who took home the WIN! 🏆👏 Way to show that Apache pride, Class of 2027! 💛🖤 #OurTribeStory
